About this Event
In the first of our “Tea and Torcs” series we have Dr Matt Lodder who is currently featuring in Adorn: Jewellery, the human story. Matt is Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory, and Director of American Studies at the University of Essex. He’ll be talking about tattooing and it’s history in the Western world.
Taking place on every second Saturday of the month these lectures will be delivered by a series of curators, historians and experts. From the oldest forms of adornment to the world of body art, enjoy hot drinks and biscuits while you soak up the wonder of gold, beauty and how even the smallest items we wear – and why we wear them – have the most powerful stories.
We would suggest that these lectures are suitable for age 12+
Tickets £7.50 pp or £30 for the series
Entry to the Castle from 2pm
