Learn

Whether you’re studying the Victorians or Romans, visiting Hollytrees Museums, Colchester Castle or teaching remotely, our schools sessions inspire children to look, investigate, compare and question their ideas about the world around them.

The wide range of collections provide endless possibilities to explore any area of learning, whether you want to plan your own visit, take part in one of our active sessions or even bring the museum back to your classroom!

Museum Sessions

Our sessions involve a mixture of elements including story tours by trained Museum Assistants, teacher-led activities and free time to explore the galleries.

Teacher Resources

We have a range of free resources to support teachers and home educators. Our Learning From Home sessions explore different aspects of Roman life, while the Museum From Home library is full of creative ideas.
