During this full-day session your pupils will go on a journey of discovery…discovering the world of Juliasaurus and discovering objects found in the ground, in our stores and in unusual places! They will be accompanied on this journey by their ‘passport’ of activities: questions to answer, objects to find and puzzles to solve as they journey around the exhibition and become experts in palaeontology, archaeology and curation!
Expect fossil and artefact handling with our museum team and more even artefact exploration and craft in the teacher-led time. It’ll be a busy and exciting day meeting our 150 million year old friend, Juliasaurus!

Activities
- Explore the world of Juliasaurus with our museum assistant who will introduce you to the amazing fossil skeleton and where it was found
- Experience the wonder of handling real fossils and discovering more about life, millions years ago
- Delve into the life of an archaeologist and museum curator though further museum-led and teacher-led object handling
- Enjoy hands-on activities throughout the exhibition space supported by a keepsake ‘Museum Wonders Passport’ to complete
- Learn more about the ‘cabinet of curiosities’ and enjoy a craft activity drawing your own.
Non-Primary Aged Pupils and General Visits
Pupils and student of any age are welcome to visit the exhibition without a supporting workshop, please contact us as these must be booked in advance.
If you would like a museum-led workshop for early years children, or secondary and post 16 students, please contact us and we are happy to discuss your requirements.

This is a full-day experience, starting at 10am and finishing at 2pm with a 45-minute break for lunch.
