If you are a resident of the Borough of Colchester and pay council tax to Colchester Borough Council you are entitled to buy a Resident Pass, which gives unlimited entry to Colchester Castle for a whole calendar year.

By becoming a Resident Pass holder and visiting Colchester Museums, you are supporting the conservation of our heritage, preserving it for future generations.

Resident Pass

To apply, come along to the Castle and bring your proof of your address. A wallet friendly Resident Pass will be issued to you.

All Resident passes are non-transferable.

All Resident passes are issued for one calendar year from date of issue.

All Resident passes do not include school holiday activities and promotions however standard castle entry will be waived.

General Terms and Conditions

Admission tickets, Resident Passes and guided tours can be purchased at the Castle on the day.

There is an additional fee for small activities admission, usually around £5.

You will need to call us to pre-book guided tours, children’s holiday activities or for group visits of 12 people or more- contact us and we will be happy to help you.
