Visit Santa FAQs

We have put together a list of questions you might have about visiting Santa. Hopefully they will provide you with the information you need.

If you have a different query however, or would like to make a booking, please do get in touch. Our elves are standing by!

Is a visit to Santa Covid secure?

We have chosen a new location for our grotto this year, on the ground floor of the museum, close to the shop and exit in a well ventilated area of the museum. Visitors will have to follow a one-way system indicated by the elves and floor markings.

In order to keep visitors and staff safe, face masks must be worn in line with government guidance and only one household/support bubble will be visiting at a time. All visits must be pre-booked where track and track details will be recorded and visitors will be asked to sanitise their hands before entering.

In the interests of keeping Santa safe for Christmas, he will be greeting his guests from inside his living room, from behind a screen and he will be asking his elves to work a little harder this year by making sure they give out the presents he has chosen for his visitors. His elves will be following social distancing guidelines. You can take photographs of Santa, but please note, children will not be permitted inside Santa’s living room for pictures.

What dates can I book?

You can book to visit Santa between Wednesday 9th – Wednesday 23rd December and bookings must be made in advance. Please note bookings must be made in households/support bubbles of no more than 6 people.

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are £6.95 per child, which includes a gift. Adults accompanying children are free of charge.

Please note, a ticket to visit Santa does not include general admission to the Castle. If you would also like to visit the museum, please let us know and we can book this for you.
